The boring background on it is that I wanted a reasonable explanation why some of my aliens… don’t seem terribly “alien”. This is a hint to some of the ideas I came up with. And a brief nod to Cordwainer Smith.

Okay, how many forgot about that sample? It’s okay, it’s been a while.
And… I have a bit of a confession to make. I am doing a bit of a review sequence. When I was watching certain adventure shows, one of the things I -hated- was the review shows. You know the ones – some thin thread of a plot that prompted the characters to have flashbacks to past episodes. I always hated those… and here I am doing something similar.
But… it has been some time since I had been doing regular updates. This has been as much for me as for the readers – I needed to get familiar with the cast, sets, and plot lines. I do hope that I am managing to entertain, and still continue to tell the story.
That was always the part of the review shows that irritated me: The story built around the flashbacks always seemed to me to be throwaway stories. The only point of it was to do the review. In this, I’m still trying to tell the story, new is being mixed into past.
